The best camps in the country are hosted and organized by university wheelchair basketball teams. Some of these include The University of Illinois, Edinboro University and the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. The Head Coaches of each of these university teams, along with their roster of athletes, serve as staff, counselors, and instructors for youth with disabilities over the course of the camp. (Usually ranging from 3 to 5 days) Youth campers gain the experience of staying on a college campus, meeting incredible role models, and learning to set life goals on and off the court. Camp fees typically range from $350-$500. The Paul Schulte Foundation raises and targets funds toward paying for the camp fees of participants whose families could not otherwise afford the experience. The Foundation places it’s highest priority on first-time campers.
